Transform Keepsakes into Fine Art with Michael Malizia and My Life Studio
By Lucy Smith
It’s in our nature to value memories, whether relics are shoved into an oversized box, stuck to the side of the refrigerator or kept at a close distance at all times. A movie ticket from a first date, or your child’s first drawing of a tree are understandably, just too precious to let go. Fine artist, Michael Malizia will take the keepsakes collected through a person’s life and repurpose them into a work of art.
Michael Malizia Turns Family Treasures into Works of Art
Michael Malizia can confidently say that he has always been a creative soul. But it wasn’t until he became a father that he truly found his artistic calling. Inspired by his vast exposure to fine art and his passion for fatherhood, Malizia took family treasures created by his children and mementos saved by his wife, and created pieces of meaningful art. His creations not only documented their time as a family, but they inspired others to do the same, pushing Malizia to turn it into a business. Now, Malizia's children aren't the only ones that inspire him. Through My Life Studio, Malizia is transforming artifacts that are usually forgotten, shoved in an attic and giving them life. Malizia tells JustLuxe about his creative journey and forming My Life Studio.
MIKE MALIZIA is a husband, father of 2 girls and full time artist of mixed media images. Following success in the financial world, culminating in the sale of his business and grounded in his education in design from Cornell University, Mike took some sound advice and decided to concentrate on his 2 true passions: family and art. Little did he know that each would embellish the other, and we are here to listen and be encouraged that what we are looking for is often right in plain sight.
