My wife saves everything. Every single drawing, every single ticket stub, every single artifact that relates to our girls and all our adventures. I found myself standing in front of five overflowing boxes filled with STUFF, and it was at that moment that I realized: These are the raw materials I need to use to tell their story.
As parents, we are compelled to capture every moment, document each rite of passage and adore every doodle of our child’s life. But what to do with these piles of mementos stored away in boxes?
My Life Studio transforms your years of collected artifacts into a work of original, fine art. We create a bespoke, original, collaborative piece of fine art that captures the most precious moments, the amazing growth, the remarkable adventures and notable rites of passage experienced by your family. We will synthesize years of growth into one fine art piece, a piece to be passed on from generation to generation.
At My Life Studio we believe that Beautiful art should tell a story, and every story should be told.
Michael Malizia is father to two beautiful and creative young girls, Charlie and Emerson. His daughters’ prolific acts of self-expression have convinced him that “the most beautiful and original art comes from the innocent imagination of a child.” Following success in the world of finance, culminating in the sale of his business, and grounded in his education in design from Cornell University, Michael decided to concentrate on his two true passions: his family and his art. As a full time artist, Michael quickly found that people were connecting with his process of using personal memories in his work and started asking if he would consider commissions. Out of this experience, coupled with his business background, My Life Studio was born. Through this passion project, Michael has found a unique way to connect with people, and share his art on a personal level. Michael creates at his studio in Hoboken's Neumann Leather building and in his private studio in Bay Head, New Jersey.
